Meet The Team
Karla Angelopulos – Business Administration
Karla grew up on a family dairy farm in Ellettsville, Indiana. She then attended Lake Forest College where she met Chris and also graduated with a double major in Elementary Education and Psychology. She joined the team in 2010 to help her husband fulfill his dream of opening a dental practice. Karla decided to switch from her teaching degree and stay permanently with the practice because the team has truly become a part of their family and she can’t imagine working without them.
In her free time, she spends time with Chris and their 4 wonderful children. The whole family loves playing sports and are all avid Star Wars movie watchers.
Kathy Rimel – Business Administration
Kathy has been the front desk expert with Dr. Angelopulos since 2005. Her expertise comes from extensive experience and dedication to lifelong learning. She has a true passion for helping patients get the most out of their insurance benefits and is great at explaining patients’ financial choices.
Kathy is understanding and compassionate with each patient and believes that by working together, treatment can be affordable for everyone. From the first time you call, Kathy makes you feel at home. She loves meeting new patients and helping them feel welcomed.
In her spare time, she spends time with her son, Stone, works on home and yard projects, goes to the beach as often as she can, and enjoys the company of her Boston Terrier.
Adrienne Herring – RDH
Adrienne graduated from Western Community College in 2016 with a degree in Dental Hygiene and has been with Dr. Angelopulos ever since. She takes pride in working with a team that believes in the quality of their work and always putting the patient first. Adrienne enjoys getting to know her patients and works hard in making a difference in their overall health.
Outside of the office, you can find Adrienne doing anything and everything outside: camping, kayaking, fishing, playing softball, or simply sitting by a fire.
Kyla Brinkman – RDH
Kyla earned an Associate’s Degree from Virginia Western Community College in May of 2012, before receiving a second Associate’s Degree from Blue Ridge Community College in August of 2013. Kyla then transferred to Old Dominion University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 2015, where she majored in Dental Hygiene, minoring in Community Health.
Kyla has lived in Rockingham County most of her life and has a true passion for educating patients, and helping to improve oral and systemic health. She is looking forward to meeting you, and helping in any way she can!
Outside of the office, Kyla enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, gardening, and canning.
Rachel Lam – RDH
Rachel has been working with Dr. Angelopulos for 12 years, starting at a front desk position and later moving to become Dr. Angelopulos’ assistant from 2008 to 2011. Rachel loved working in a dental office and eventually went to hygiene school in 2012 before graduating in 2014 receiving her Associates Degree of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She loves to work with patient’s and make sure their treatments are tailored to their specific needs.
Rachel lives with her husband, Jonathan and their two kids, Hayleigh and Oklen. She enjoys spending time outdoors either gardening or traveling and being with her family and friends.
Dental Assisting Team
Sara has almost 20 years of dentistry experience and has been with Dr. Angelopulos since August of 2001. She understands the fears and anxieties many patients have about visiting the dentist and makes sure that every worry is met with understanding and care. She strives to make every patient’s experience as enjoyable as possible. As a dental assistant, Sara makes sure that her work not only improves her patient’s smiles but also their everyday lives.
Sara has 5 kids who are all grown up and mostly out of the house. She enjoys to camp, golf, and spend time with her family as much as possible. She grew up in the Harrisonburg area and loves all that it has to offer.
Vanessa graduated from Massanutten Technical Center completing the dental assistant program in 2011. She is x-ray and CPR certified and chose to pursue a career in dentistry because she enjoys helping patients improve their dental health and loves seeing their smiles when all the work is done. She actively takes time to get to know each patient and educate them on their oral health. She treats her patients as family.
She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her husband, Jake, and their Pitbull, Bentley. She tries to adventure outside as much as possible via camping, kayaking, or hiking.
